Girteka, Europe’s largest-asset based logistics company, continues to expand its freight forwarding operations in Poland. The company’s Warsaw office, which opened at the beginning of 2025, is becoming one of the key hubs for developing the Girteka Group’s capabilities in modern freight brokerage services. The company consistently invests in the growth of local teams, focusing on experience, partnership-based relationships, and technologies that support transport operations.
The branch in Warsaw is part of Girteka’s strategy to build an integrated digitally enabled logistics network across Europe. This is where expertise in road freight forwarding is concentrated primarily for the temperature-controlled sectors, including FMCG and food transportation.
Specialization in selected market segments allows the company to maintain high service standards while meeting the needs of demanding clients for whom delivery reliability is crucial.
“Poland plays a key role on the map of European road transport. Warsaw, as an important business hub, naturally became the place where we are building a strong team of freight forwarders and business leaders. We want to fully leverage the potential of the Polish market by developing the skills of local professionals and expanding our cooperation network with carriers,” says Angel Kalinov, Director of Brokerage at Girteka, based in Warsaw.
People at the heart of the strategy
The company is currently expanding its forwarding team and has just launched new round of recruitment. As Angel Kalinov emphasizes, operational skills are vital, but so too are the ability to build long-term relationships with carriers and customers. Having our first priorities in place, with the development of tech and ability to autonomously procure capacity with our scale will remain vital for our future growth.
“We believe in the power of the team. Success in logistics depends on people, processes and technology, in that order. Tech will not make it alone without the other 2 combined. Our people’s knowledge, commitment, flexibility, and willingness to grow will enable us to utilize our technology. That’s why we create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to make a real contribution, develop, and deliver ambitious projects. Whether someone is just starting their career in forwarding or joining us with many years of experience,” says Kalinov.
The Warsaw branch is not only home to the freight forwarding division. Girteka is also building a team of specialists in sales, customer service, business development, as well as IT experts responsible for implementing and developing advanced digital tools. The digitalization of logistics and forwarding processes has become one of the cornerstones of the company’s modernization.
Growing the carrier network
The growth of the Warsaw office goes hand in hand with the expansion of Girteka’s carrier network. The company currently works with several thousand road carriers across Europe and plans to further grow its base of partners in the coming years – primarily small and medium-sized carriers specializing in full truckload (FTL) services, including both refrigerated and curtain-sided transport.
“Long-term partnership is the key for us, which is why we focus on transparency, technological support, and financial stability. Our dedicated carrier portal – the Girteka Partners Portal – makes daily operations easier. We are also creating a new ‘loyalty scheme which will be launched in the early 2026. The program will provide additional benefits and quicker access to loads, faster payment terms and discounts to some of our services” Kalinov highlights.
Carriers who choose to work with Girteka on a regular basis can count on a steady flow of orders, preferential settlement terms, faster payments through the QuickPay service, fuel discounts, and support in managing ferry crossing costs. In addition, strategic partners can benefit from the option to purchase used trucks and trailers through the ClassTruck program.
A modern organizational culture
Technological development and go hand in hand at Girteka with an organizational culture that values openness and shared responsibility for collective success. Teams work in an international environment – the company’s business language is English, which fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange. This approach to talent management allows each employee to consciously plan their own development path. “Our ambition is to build an environment where people can grow dynamically, , and in line with their own aspirations,” emphasizes Angel Kalinov, Head of the Brokerage Division.
According to Girteka representatives, the company combines the dynamics of a start-up with the reliability of a large, international transport organization.
Looking ahead
Girteka’s Warsaw office is another step towards strengthening the company’s position in the European road transport market. Ambitious growth plans, investments in technology, and focus on sustainable partnerships with carriers are intended to help the company not only expand its operations but also strengthen its reputation as a reliable and responsible logistics operator.
“At Girteka, there are no limits to growth. “We believe that this approach is the key strength that enables us to build mutual success together with our clients, carriers and employees” concludes Angel Kalinov.
